the mask of a coyote - a trickster figure

the mask of a coyote - a trickster figure

I am drawn to the texture of the mask. It caught my attention in the Bison Corral gift shop. The mask has a presence and reminds me of the power of the coyotes I have seen up close… alive.

The fur is beautiful.

The trickster makes fun of me to help me see the truth.

The mask is beautiful- color, folded form, eye hole….gorgeous. It reminds me of my time in the Pacific NW, a trip to Alaska, and looking an Inuit masks.

Rich and I dream of a trip to Alaska. The hole is interesting. I have been photographing holes of various types for the last 10 years or so… I hadn’t thought of the significance of the hole yet…
